Hey friends.
For the past couple years, I have been studying the art of having a photography business. I love photography and the relationships that I’m able to make. I love the way that I’m able to help those around me see the beauty that is in them. In my study of this business, I have been taught over and over again that to make a lot of money taking pictures, I have to do it one way. High prices and a feeling of exclusivity must be present. Honestly, I tried that. It worked. I offered really amazing products to my clients and gave them an exclusive experience. The problem is, it doesn’t work for me.
Many of you know about my photography movement, Beauty Revived. It is a photography movement that highlights the good in the world around us by photographers telling the stories of truly beautiful women. The bigger Beauty Revived has gotten, the more I realize how strongly I believe in this message. The more high school girls I meet, the more I want to work with. The young women around us are amazing and I fear that because of the exclusive nature of my business, I am missing out on meeting and telling the stories of some outstanding girls.
Also, my life has changed a lot since I started heading my business in that direction. Beauty Revived is growing, my family is growing up and my church responsibilities are growing. I want to give each part of my life the attention it deserves.
Something has to change. I need to simplify, in all aspects of my life. So, I’m simplifying my pricing and my procedures. You can view my collections on my pricing page. You will find it simple to understand and give more options for all different price points. We will now not be doing session Premieres that I’ve done in the past. I will still help with ordering and choosing your pictures but it will be in a less formal way.
Another part of simplifying is setting aside time for each part of my life. So, I will have a limited amount of sessions each month. I want my clients to know that I am investing the right amount of time into their sessions. If you are looking to get senior pictures with me, book early.
One last change. Just last night I got to take pictures of my sister-in-law and her family. Each time, I am reminded how much I love being a part of capturing the joy of kids. Because of that and because I am a mom myself, I will now be offering family sessions. My focus will remain on seniors, but being a mom, I must also bring in families and I am so excited!
Lastly, I would like to thank all of you who have supported me. The girls and families I get to meet bring me joy and hope. I’m excited to get to meet more of you this coming year.
