Meet Riata.
Growing up in a small Utah town, I appreciate a girl who can whip and ride, saddle a horse, drive a tractor and get straight A’s. This perfectly describes Riata. So, when I met up with her for her senior pictures, she had my whole heart.
She is currently reigning Utah’s Miss High School Rodeo Queen and placed 7th in nationals.
This session answered a burning question for me: how do these rodeo queens get jeans, shirt and boots that are all the same color? Answer: They dye them. Riata’s mom helped make the shirt and then they dyed the pants to match and they took their shirt to Home Depot to get matching paint and painted her boots. Now that is awesome commitment.
(Don’t be surprised if I show up somewhere in a glittery raspberry ensemble to the next photo shoot;)
Riata comes from a family of hard workers and rodeo stars and it was an honor to spend the evening with her.
